I realize that Korean/DBers are very loud laughers. Not just LOLers but clappers, hitters, table smashers, you name it.

Sometimes, I'm the only one laughing loudly in class. I realized that maybe it's because I'm Korean and from DB/SoCal (people out here don't know what "SoCal" means, so I've learned to say "Southern California". Same goes for UCSD. I have to say "the University of California, San Diego." Geez).

My instructors are HILARIOUS!! I think I LOL every hour...3 times.

On the first day of class, Major Lovell (yup, he got promoted while I was here! Captain to Major is a BFD (Big F'n Deal), folks!) was talking about charities and he said something about retards. I LOLed but caught myself and only a little bit leaked. Obviously, I wasn't paying attention and just heard retard. GEEZ.

Also, I have a new way of reading a person. It's through his/her laugh. There's a weird guy in my class who has a horribly weird laugh. So, if you have a weird laugh, then I don't like you.

Girrrl

I bummed a ride with Tony today and when we got into the classroom I realized I forgot my cup of joe in his truck. I was so tempted to drive his car but I refrained myself from GTA. As I was heading towards the AMOC building, I spotted Jeff. He doesn't say "hi" to me. He doesn't greet me. All he says is "keys?" HAHAHAHAHA! He would notice me carrying a set of keys. Gs.

I wish I had a car. What do you think of the Hyundai Elantra Touring?! I'm falling in love...But I'm going to wait till I get to Delaware, the taxless state.

Later, our class was talking about the PCs (progress check quizzes we take after every objective). Dan and Jeff are the only ones who passed all the quizzes (80% or above). Dan jokingly mentioned how he doesn't need to study because it's easy or what not. I yelled, "Shoot, giirrrrrrrrrrrl!" Everyone was impacted by this "giiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrl," some confused, some entertained, some shocked. I miss Chris Moon. He always says "giiiiirrrrrl." He's who I got it from.

When I first came to Texas, I was fascinated at how easily I picked up the accent. I enjoyed having this accent (partly because I was making fun). But now...I hate it. I'm losing my Californianess. I hope I don't get trapped in Texas.

Coffee!!

Remember I spilled coffee on the morning of the first day of class and how no one told me of the stain? I spilled coffee AGAIN!!! But this time, it wasn't my fault.

Willie and I were in his car on the way to base and one mile away, we were rear-ended by a new blue mustang. The impact wasn't great but it was enough to make my full coffee jump out of my hand and vomit all over the windshield/dashboard/radio/glove compartment. COFFEE WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!! Even my hair!!!

HAHHAHAH I didn't even think of myself. All I was thinking about right after we got hit was the coffee spillage. Oh, boy.

The person that hit us was a Lt Col who works at the base in the AMOC building! HAHAH What are the chances?? He's also living at our hotel! HAHAH

What an exciting morning!!

After we got back, Willie and I ran into the Col in the elevator.

Until the last cut...as in...really, after this cut I would have been done, not just because I made this huge mistake I quit.

Girlfriends

Today, I hung out with Dominique and her friends, Sarah and Brenda (all here for AMOC).

I forgot how much I enjoyed hanging out with girls. Plus half of them are Korean!! KOREAN!!!!!

Yes, half. Brenda is full Korean from K-Town!! HAHA! What are the chances!!! When I met her today, I asked if she was Korean.

Me - Oh!...Hi!

HAHHAHA *sigh.

And Sarah is half Korean and half something else. I wasn't paying attention. All I heard was "half Korean."

Also, I wish I packed earlier and smarter. While I was packing 4 hours before my flight, I didn't realize that I was moving. MOVING!! I didn't bring anything!!

And I when I left, my room was a mess. I told Cliff to clean it for me but I doubt he did. Oh well.

Oklahoma City, home of I don't know. But I love it there because there's a Chipotle there! HAHAH!

Can you believe there's not Chipotle here in Wichita Falls? Well...If you see WF, then you can believe it.

Before leaving Cali, all my friends wanted to eat at restaurants I'd miss but I didn't think I'd miss any foods except Korean. Apparently I do miss American food (Chiptole counts as American food).

So, for those of who plan on sending me something, please send me food. HAHAHHA!!!

And not having a car is making me miss food even more...

I had an epiphany not too long ago.

I realized that maybe I'm not having the funnest time here at my tech school because some of the people here are socially awkward.

Don't get me wrong, they're all really nice. But socially awkward (not all, just most). I don't know if I can act nice for much longer. I know that not all officers are awkward because the other students in the other classes are so chill and fun I LOVE IT!! My instructor is hilarious, too! I hope the officers in Delaware are fun!!

Today, as I was eating lunch with a couple of the other LTs I realized that I really REALLY miss you guys.

Greatly!

I enjoy meeting new people so I didn't realize how much I missed you guys. But now that they aren't "new" anymore, I miss thee greatly.

As I was in my "new" friend's car with a couple other guys on the way back from class, I remembered what Jean told her blog fans and what she told me personally. "It's not about being homesick because you're always going to be homesick. It's about how homesick you are." After remembering that, I realized that I have to make the most of the time I have right now with these guys. If I'm just reminiscing about my friends back at home and how much I miss them then how can I possibly have fun with the "new" friends here??

So. I am going to continue to be nice and enjoy their company. Because who the heck else will I hang out with?

Oh, and BTW, I definitely do not want to marry military.

WHY?

Because these military folks only talk about military things (only common ground) and noooot too much else. I mean, it's not a bad thing. But being around that 24/7?? I'd rather not.

I think I felt more homesick because I realized that I don't click well with these guys. Maybe 2 of them. But yeah...o boy. Maybe "clicking well" isn't the right word. It's more like I'm being fake. As in I'm being NICE. Like HELLA NICE. I want to be myself but I might hurt them HAHAH!!!

The Squishy Wake Up Call

My class instructor, Captain Lovell, warned us that if we fall asleep while he was instructing, he was going to his us with one of these babies.

He said that he's fine with us standing in the back if we get tired but thou shall not sleep!!!

I slept at 1 today and woke up at 7. For you non math majors, that's only 6 hours of sleep!!! 6!! NOOO!!!
I knew I was going to fall asleep in class and thankfully Capt Lovell gives us 10 minute breaks after every hour.

Before the lunch break, I was pretty good at not sleeping and I took naps during the breaks.

After lunch is another story.

"Hrmm I wonder how much longer till break? OMG it's only 1315 (class resumed at 1300). Alright, I gotta last. I GOTTA!!!

OMG, it's only 1330. I hope I don't fall asleep. That looks so bad. I would stand up in the back but then I can't take notes on my laptop. It's okay...only 20 more minutes to go.

Day 1

I met everyone for the first time today!

There are 14 people in my class including me!! Guess how many are females.......................................

Just me. JK. There are 3! Yay!! I thought I was going to be the only girl but I have 2 new girl friends! YAY!!

So Ryan is shipping his car from Hawaii so he doesn't have one right now. We thought that maybe a lot of people didn't have cars here because I didn't have it and he didn't have it either.

Sitting in the back, I can see everything. And as I was scanning the room, I saw that I was the OOOOOOOOOONLYYYYY one raising my hand. OMG!! I felt so...ugh. So deprived...

In the morning I got a free banana and free coffee at the hotel (complimentary breakfast!!!).
After class, I went to the uniform shop and saw that I had a stain on my shirt. A COFFEE STAIN!!! THE WHOLE DANG DAY!!!! AND THE STAIN WAS HUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?! AIGOO!!!!

Wichita Falls, TX

There's no room on base for my class to live in. So we're living in tents outside.

Just kidding! We're at a Holiday Inn 15 miles off base and we get a free cab to and from there.

There's nothing around me (as in outside my window). Except a gas station and a Sonic.

0.7 miles away is a Walgreens (which I'm loving), some dirt, a Subway (food), some weeds, a Taco Bell, some grass, a market, and an ice cream shop. We have to walk over a railroad track to get to the Walgreens plaza. I felt like a lost child trying to find her way home.

While my friend Ryan and I (yeah, I made a friend. I'll make more later once I know who's in my class. Class hasn't started yet. I only met Ryan because we had the same flight from Dallas to Wichita Falls together) were walking to Walgreens, I wanted to throw up because it is soooooooo empty out here. There's a retirement home and something else next door. And the sky is endless, no buildings or mountains to block the enormous sky. It was really weird looking at it. I don't want to look at it anymore because it's too strange and makes me feel uneasy.

Also, on the plane ride over Texes, you can see square pieces of land. Really. It looks like God cut and pasted patches of green fields. The farm land is separated into perfect squares like in Smallville. RIDIC! The roads were perfectly parallel and perpendicular to each other which also made me barf. HAHA just kidding. But seriously. Spongebob Squareland!

I wish I had a car here. I was at the gas station and had to buy nailpolish remover, but they didn't have it. The cashier told me about Walgreens.

Cashier Lady - It's right down the street.

Me - Oh, okay. Is it walking distance?
CL (hahahah CL....) - What? Don't walk there!
Me - Why?!?! It's that far?!

CL - Yeah, I wouldn't want you to walk!
Me - Omy...how far of a walk is it?

CL - Like 15 minutes.

Me - GIRL!! (jk) Oh, that's not that far!

CL - You know, I just didn't want you to walk that far.

Me - But I don't have a car here.

CL - Girl, you'll need a car.

I should really invest in a bicycle.

There are no churches walking distance from here. IDK what to do. There's probably a chapel on base but IDK how I'm going to get there (IDK if the free taxi service is for school days only or what).

BTW I don't know if I can get mail because I'm at a hotel. I should be able to right? IDK. I'll ask today or tomorrow.

I remember the first time I played with you, I was so scared because I hated zombies. TONGUE GUY!! But now I love zombi---correction: I love killing zombies with you. I downloaded L4D just so that we can play. But my computer is too slow. I'm going to have to get a new computer soon (mine sucks!!! Not only because it won't let me play L4D but it just sucks). But it won't be the same. L4D isn't just a game...it's life. And staying alive/doing the most damage possible.

c. I love grabbing pho with you! I don't know why Pho Cadao tastes so good. I think it's because we eat there together...ALL THE TIME! When I went to Pho Cadao yesterday, all these memories from college (senior year in college) came back to me. Sigh I'm going to miss Pho Cadao. I mean you. I can't think of anymore. These are all things I've done within the last couple weeks so that's why I remember.

I wish I could just leave for 6 months/1 year like Jean and come back. She says she has missions fever HAHAHAH!! High standards, remember, Jean!! HIGH! Not standards of one who is high.

I should really start packing soon.

People have asked if I plan on coming back but...I don't want to.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOONLY because that'll probably require paperwork (go on "leave" because technically I'm working).

I remember in my senior year, Mr. Alcosser asked the class, "Who hasn't turned in their college applications yet" and I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO RAISE MY HAND!!!

ZOMG!

And I was about to live off campus my first year at UCSD because I didn't turn in a housing application. A couple weeks before school started, I called and asked UCSD if they had space and I did my application over the phone with the person. HAHAHAH

ZOMG!

I really do hate paperwork.

For worship team, Georgia Mike sent me a file to fill out and turn in at church. This was 3 months agoish. Did I do it?

I'm bad with paperwork. This is going to be hard as an AF officer because supposedly all we do is sit at our desks and push paper.

But yes. This is what will keep me from coming home.

BTW. I thought the memory card stick from my new camera would sit in my computer but it doesn't. AAAnd it's running outta batteries and do I have a charger for that? I took so many pictures. I should really buy....something.

Sat 2 Oct - SD with my church =). L4D 2 (with Grace, Hannah, Chris, Daniel 1, Jason, James, and River. My team won!).

Sun 3 Oct - Church (2nd to last one...OMG). Turkeybowl practice if it's not too hot. Worship team dinner! Chris's night!

Mon 4 Oct - Lunch with Hannah (FAIL)! Matinée Social Network with Jason. Drinks with Janet, Robin, and Vicky. 1$ bowling!!

Tues 5 Oct - DLand with Janet, Randy, and Tim!! Comm group (ended up not going because I didn't know how to get there and my phone ran out of batteries...).

Wed 6 Oct - LA with Janet! Hangout with Daniel and Randy.

Thurs 7 Oct - Angie TIME!! L4D 3 (with Chris, Jason [Dota], James, and River. I love winning)!

Fri 8 Oct - Lunch with Hannah (SUCCESS)! Dinner with Susan at Jason's work. Sleepover at Karen's!!

Sat 9 Oct - Lunch with my stupid family. Busbys with the ladies and gents!

Sun 10 Oct - Last Sunday Service at GNC...WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Turkeybowl practice. Big dinner w/ church people. Coconutbay?? L4D4 (with Grace, Ben, Chris, DKang, Derek, James, and Wilson)

Mon 11 Oct - Gamja party 11 on the 11th (with Christina, Dina, Grace, Hannah, Karen, Cliff, Chris, Daniel 1, James, Jason, and River)
